The Wrangler Program includes teens who have knowledge of horsemanship and horse care and want to expand their skills and experience. Every year we have a small group young folks who volunteer their time to do work at Shekinah.
The Wranglers work begins early in the morning and often times runs late into the evening. They work hard and often get to enjoy some activities at camp. Most times wranglers are dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon or evening. There are times when they are given the privilege of staying the night. This is based on camp needs, behavior/attitude, parental permission and available adult supervision.
This program is seniority based. Returning wranglers have first priority and are always called first to help. Most wranglers are previous campers or highly recommended individuals. They are seen by campers as young leaders and set a Christ-like example as they are mentored by senior staff. Many will grow to become future summer staff.
