Christian Horse Camp Opens In Twilight In Washington County

Shekinah Western Ranch Camp, a Christian horse camp, has opened in Twilight Borough, Washington County. The Rev. Tom Ravasio said, "Every boy and girl will have an awesome encounter with God and a great experience."
The camp opened its doors in July and will continue operation this year through Aug. 15. Plans are to reopen next year in June.
But there are still openings available for this year's season.
Campers must be 8 to 18 years old.
Each segment begins Sunday and continues through Friday night, at which time the campers show off their riding skills to their families.
The camp has 21 acres that offer horseback riding, volleyball, basketball, softball, fishing, swimming, nature walks, miniature golf a nightly campfire and cabins for campers to sleep in.
Campers rise between 7 and 7:30 a.m., have breakfast at 8 a.m., chapel at 8:30 a.m., have stall duties and riding with the horses from 9 to 11:30 a.m., lunch, and then activities from 1 to 4:30 p.m., and dinner is at 5 p.m.
They learn horse care from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by an evening campfire and snack.
Campers need have no horse skills to participate.
All horses are gentle. Youths will be matched with a horse for the week, according to their riding experience.
